“These colourful stones, which are only found in China, are several billion-year-old volcanic rocks.  Some Chinese regard them as a type of soft jade.  The material itself is of good value.  With the addition of innovation artistry, the potential value of these beautiful natural formations becomes incomparable.  One day, this should be recognized worldwide……….For most carvings and sculptures, the artist uses his mind and hands to absolutely control the whole process of creation.  In Chinese stone art, success is dependent not only on the skills of the artist but also on his talent and experience.  The biggest challenge is how to turn the structure of different natural colours on a stone into a colourful two-or three-dimensional picture.  Therefore, I believe Chinese stone art is superior to most other carvings and sculptures.”

“The remarkable quality these stones possess is found inside, under the surface of the rock.  The deeper you cut away, the colour of the rock may change.  The surface can be a dark brown or grey, but once you start working away the outer shell, you get these naturally brilliant shades or red, yellow, beige and white.  The sculptures look as if there were coloured, but they weren’t.  Every colour you see is naturally occurring.  The artists decide the fate of the work by studying it.  Each rock has a certain unique shape and shade of colours.  The stone has a fate and it’s up to the artist to figure out what that fate is.  Then he has the difficult task of turning it into a 3D image.  To complete one of these sculptures, the artist will work for weeks or sometimes even months.”

“Today, the market of arts and antiques is facing a critical situation.  There are problems such as imitations, duplications, false certificates, and so-called specialists, resulting in the reluctance of art collectors to invest.  ‘China Stone Art’ is an absolute unique collection in which one can easily use one’s own eyes to make a decision.  The most significant feature of ‘China Stone Art’ is its inimitability, which is bound to set the trend for new generations as they seek ways to overcome the current challenges in the artistic world.”
